FUNKY TRUNDLE ROLLS INTO THE VILLAGE

Surely you've seen it? The Funky Trundle that is. It may have started as a mere tea bar, but regulars at Club Night cannot fail to have noticed the appearance of the enhanced refreshment 'bar', now featuring the stylish "funky trundle", carrying a range of canned and carton drinks and even confectionary. Thus making the Baddow Club Night even more attractive to the host of regulars and guests. The refreshment bar which includes refillable tea and coffee is the initiative of Committee member Diane Pitt and has proved highly popular with regulars, especially the youngsters who delight in taking the orders and seeing that everyone makes best use of the new facility. So next time you are around whet your whistle, titillate those taste buds and try it out. Any feedback (hopefully of a positive nature) will be gratefully received! Prices are very competitive and the service, friendly.

Put down your bat for 5 minutes
and enjoy a treat from the  Baddow 'Funky Trundle'

The Baddow D team certainly could have done with the 'Funky Trundle' and its contents following the end of their recent match against Maldon E on 11 February. Robin Armstrong had arrived late for the match, and selected the nearest spot to the front door that seemed available. He now knows why it was available. Having driven straight into it, the car immediately sunk in the sodden ground, and that was it; stuck! So at after 11 p.m. the Baddow team were wallowing in the mud - literally - trying to extricate Robin's car from the quagmire! They even had to almost empty the near by wheelie bin to find material to put under the wheels to give them purchase. After much grunting and groaning, slipping and sliding, the car was finally released with an almighty sigh! But the 'funky trundle' was nowhere to be seen! Moral of the story - be very careful where you park if it has been particularly wet! The good news however, was that Baddow won the match!

Robin, a runner-up in last years Club Singles Tournament,
gets no prizes for his recent car-parking exploits.
And he's certainly no stick in the mud,
when it comes to table tennis.
