CUP FEVER

Baddow Junior A team has reached the final of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League Junior KO Cup competition. The team of John Patman, Ryan Pitt and Sam Pitt fought hard to overcome the B team of ECC, 5:3. None more so than young Samuel who only narrowly lost out over three ends against Matthew Cheveau and at 22:20 against Thomas Leader both of whom were members of the all conquering ECC M side that headed the League Introductory competition, CLICK, in which Sam's team finished fourth. The Baddow B side, of Phillip Twite, Haydn Upson and Rykki Vansertima had a much tougher test facing the top ECC side. They put in a brave effort going down 5:0.

Baddow are also through to the final of the 4 Down KO Cup. The A team (for this competition) of Robin Armstrong, Frank Neill and Graham Turner were convincing 5:0 winners over Hatfield Peverel A in their semi-final. Peverel may feel a little disappointed as the score line hardly does justice to their efforts and the closeness of the match.

What is more Baddow are still in the League Handicap KO Cup. This time it is the F team, captained by Richard Upson, who has at his disposal Neil Gooday, John & Mark Patman as well as himself. The team face a semi-final showdown with Excalibur on Monday 22 April (at Baddow) for a place in the final.

Do keep a watch out for news of the dates and times of finals and come and support the Baddow teams.
