Champions The Baddow Village 'A' Team were officially crowned champions of Division 2 of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League this weekend with still two weeks of the season to go. The first team to be recognised as divisional winners this season. Under captain Waseem Qureshi the team have put together a splendid season, the only team in the League not to have suffered a single defeat. Even the mighty ECC A team, champions of the first division, could not match this performance. Even the usually laid-back Waseem could hardly suppress his delight at the team's performance; "It's been a great team effort", he said with just a hint of understatement! And what has been even more amazing is that they have managed this great achievement on a squad of just three players! Captain Waseem has played in all the matches and Adrian is close behind having missed just one game. And with averages of 79% and 78% respectively it shows just how well they have done in what is traditionally a very tough division. Congratulations! A brilliant achievement.
