Baddow Takes CLICK Crown

Haydn Upson and Rykki Vansertima ended what has been for them a magnificent season in the Chelmsford League Introductory Competition, CLICK in true style, with a clear 5:0 win! And with victory came the championship title of the CLICK league.

What's been the secret of their success? Haydn in typical style, gives a mischievous grin and shrugs his shoulders. There is no doubt though it has been earned by hard work, consistency, positive but quiet attitude and great team effort - and not to mention brilliant management and motivation!

They have not had it all their own way though. But when the chips have been down they have just fought harder, never becoming dispirited. The last match was a typical example. At 2 sets to love down Haydn looked in trouble, then 'worked his socks off', to pull back winning the fifth 11:7. What's more the same happened to Rykki in the very next game! Two sets to love down, he fought back, taking the fifth 13:11. you can't get closer or more determined than that!

So, 'congratulations' boys. It has been a very well deserved triumph. 17 wins out of 20 matches with a total of 82 points from a possible 100 is a very good achievement for two 12 year olds (Haydn just 12 on 6 April, and Rykki not 12 until 24 May!). And of course, well done to Manager's Richard & Julie!

Yes, it was all smiles!
Rykki & Haydn can afford to grin
as they line up for the camera at their final match
of the season on Friday 11 April which they won
convincingly 5:0 to take the CLICK title.

Rykki certainly has that look of determination and concentration as he sets out to bid for the CLICK title in the final match of the season.

Not sure this is Haydn's best shot of the season! Or perhaps he is just saluting his opponent? Whatever, it has served him well throughout this season and brought him a personal average of 92% (just 3 games dropped), which tops the CLICK averages. Well done!
