CONGRATULATIONS

The Club is delighted to learn that its lead coach Neil Gooday, has been awarded his Level 3 Coaching Certificate by the English Table Tennis Association. The Level 3 Award is one of the highest coaching awards and qualifies Neil to coach right up to County standard. The award is very well deserved and has taken some 12 months to earn.

And Neil is putting it to very good use. Particularly at the Clubs Friday evening coaching sessions at Melbourne. And talking of coaching, one of the regulars on Friday, Jackie Smith (see News Feature 29 September) has again been making headline news. Having been invited to represent Great Britain in a table tennis tournament for people with disabilities, held recently in Avignon in France, Jackie came home with a Silver Medal from the Ladies Singles event. This she proudly showed to youngsters at coaching with Neil explaining just what could be achieved in the sport through their hard work and effort.
