COACHING CONTINUES TO THRIVE

One of the best features about the Coaching programme at Melbourne Athletics Centre on Friday evenings has been the constant influx of newcomers as one friend brings another. Up to 40 youngsters are now regularly coming to the two 1 hour sessions for beginners and improvers. And as a sign of progress all are introduced to the Dunlop Skills Award Scheme as soon as possible, as this helps to introduce basic skills and techniques. The skills awards are progressive and the first step on the ladder is the Rookie Award. Our picture below features the latest batch of recipients of this Rookie Award and as you will see we are delighted that this programme continues to include girls. Actually we have quite a few of them now!
