SKILLS AWARDS LEAD WAY IN ENCOURAGEMENT

The Dunlop Skills Award scheme continues to be one of the main tools used to encourage stroke development at the Club junior coaching sessions at Melbourne Athletic Centre! And with around 60 juniors now on the coaching register the skills award programme provides an excellent means to structure and encourage development. The Club now offers three coaching sessions every Friday from beginner right through to the top 12 Elite squad, operated by League Coaching Officer Hil Dowsett. The latest recipient of an award is Andrew Orme, seen in the picture below. Andrew hasn't long been playing table tennis but he already has his foot firmly set on the first rung of the skills ladder and is now working towards his improver badge. I think you would have to say that the smile suggests he is enjoying it! After all, table tennis is a pretty good game!

Dunlop Skills Rookie Award - 26 March 2004

Andrew Orme receives his Dunlop Skills Rookie Award from Coach Neil Gooday. Andrew hasn't been playing table tennis very long. But this is the great thing about the awards scheme, you can get your foot on the first rung of the progress ladder very quickly, with just a few basic skills. Well done Andrew!
