CHAIRMAN TAKES A BOW

Club Chairman Peter Revell announced his retirement as Chairman at the recent Club AGM. Peter has held the post for 6 years crowning more than 20 years of service with the Club since its founding in its present form in 1982. In making his announcement Peter paid tribute to the progress of the Club and the work put into it by its dedicated band of volunteers. Peter will however continue to be involved with the Club and will now take on the role of Treasurer, a role that he has also held with distinction in the past.

Incoming Chairman will be Graham Turner. Graham has previously served the club as General Secretary and Treasurer. Accepting the nomination and unanimous support of the meeting, Graham paid tribute to the work Peter had done and looked forward to serving a great Club. The stability and strength of the Club is evidenced in the fact that in its 23 year history Graham is just the third Chairman.

At the same meeting, the Club welcomed two newcomers to its General Committee appointing Eric Clift and also Sam Pitt. Sam is the first junior to become involved in the Management Committee of the Club, and reflects the growing youth section of the Club.
