Three junior Club members took
the opportunity just before Christmas to attend an Xmas
Table Tennis Camp. The 3 day event run by Eastern Region
Development Officer Greg Yarnall was staged at Weavers
Leisure Centre in Northants and featured a host of top
stars.

popularity.
Hardly surprising with such top quality training on
offer. |
Bradley Hudgell, Dacre &
Stevie Pell responded to the open invitation to join a host
of other talented juniors from around the region for the
event which featured Alex Perry (current British and
English National Champion), Andrew Rushton (2006
Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist) and Tim Yarnall
(National Schools Champion) as 3 of the coaches, along with
Greg.
The Batskills Xmas Camp
offered great table tennis and fun for almost 6 hours on
each day. With Bradley, Dacre and Stevie able to attend for
2 days 21 & 22 December. Although the atmosphere was fun
nevertheless the coaches were strict and the structure
excellent and very well planned. There is no doubt from the
numbers attending and the smiles that this was a really
worthwhile event enabling our own juniors to see and taste
something of the best in table tennis and to mix with and
learn from the best. And what's more the progress is showing
through in both the way they play and approach the game.
Maybe more can be encouraged to attend next year!
