Bob Jumps for Joy

Club Member Bob Francis is about to take a leap into the unknown! Who said, that's a little like his table tennis! And, of all places, from the roof of the stand at his favourite football club! Bob writes:-

"In a moment of sheer madness I volunteered to complete a freefall abseil to raise funds for the Bobby Moore Fund. The abseil takes place on the 17th March 2007 from the roof of the Bobby Moore stand at West Ham football ground. It’s a grand total of 140 feet high which is about 135 feet more than I’m comfortable with!

The Bobby Moore Fund was set up following the great man’s death in 1993. It raises money for research into bowel cancer.

I realise that people's preferences over the charities that they choose to support is a very private matter and hope that you won’t be offended by me contacting you. If you are unable to help then that’s no problem. If you are able to help me raise funds for this worthy cause then that’s fantastic!

I have set up a web page at http://www.justgiving.com/bobfrancis ,here you will find some more details about the charity and a swanky photo of me. I will update the photo every few days or so, showing some of the football related fashion and hair crimes I have been responsible for over the years!

You can sponsor me at the web page in the form of a donation. For this service the page's host charges a small fee. For my part I will pledge to pay this fee for all donations made through this page, so if you do sponsor me via this method, you know that the whole amount will go to the charity.

If your preference is for an old fashioned sponsor form, that’s fine too. Please e-mail me at this address with details of the amount and I will add it to the forms that I have."

Do support Bob in this venture if you can.

Apparently this is Bob in his West Ham gear in 1995 in India!
Usually people say something like he's a shadow of his former self, but judging by this picture don't think one would say that of Bob now!
